Are laser safety glasses or goggles necessary?

Sometimes, we turn on the laser and to check the beam profile if has changed, or check the output power, we often forget to wear laser safety glasses. I am not conscious that is a bad behavior. We should remember to wear it to protect our eyes, it is very necessary. We should strengthen our self-protection awareness, especially when we contact with the lasers, which will cause blind somehow.
